AI & Machine Learning Research – Intern
We are seeking a motivated and innovative researcher intern to join our team for the summer. In this role, you will focus on researching the application of AI and machine learning technologies in the corrections industry. You will conduct a deep dive into current technologies, assessing their effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement. Additionally, you will work on a project to create a wrapper around GPT to enhance the search capabilities within our IADSS platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Research existing AI and machine learning applications in the corrections sector.
- Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of these technologies within Optamo’s existing framework.
- Develop a proof of concept for creating a GPT wrapper to improve search functionality in the IADSS platform.
- Collaborate with the product and technical teams to align research findings with business needs.
- Present your findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current enrollment in a Master’s / PhD program
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Experience with NLP, and GPT-based models is a plus.
- Working knowledge in at least one statistical/programming language like Python.
- Strong analytical, communication, multitasking, and presentation skills
- Ability to self-start
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
