Director of Sales and Business Development
We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Director of Sales and Business Development with experience in selling and marketing technology solutions for government agencies, particularly in the public safety or corrections sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technology and a proven track record of selling complex software solutions. The Director of Sales will play a key role in driving Optamo’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and effectively communicating the exceptional value of Optamo’s products. This role involves significant travel to meet with clients, attend industry events, and represent Optamo in various capacities.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the correctional and public safety sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies.
- In-person and online meetings to present and demonstrate Optamo’s software solutions to prospective clients, clearly articulating the value proposition.
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and promote Optamo’s solutions, including, but not limited to:
- Correctional Leaders Association (CLA) conferences
- American Correctional Association (ACA) conferences
- Collaborate with the technical and product development teams to understand product features and benefits.
- Manage the sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful implementation.
- Manage customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewals and also facilitate sale of new modules.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitive landscape to effectively position Optamo’s products.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in technology sales.
- Demonstrated experience in selling technology solutions to government agencies.
- Sales experience in Corrections, or public safety sectors is preferred.
General:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and close deals.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Familiarity with the challenges and regulatory environment of the corrections industry.
- Technical background or experience working closely with software development teams.
- Strong understanding of software products, particularly in the context of inmate population management and corrections is preferred.
